A college baseball player for The Master’s University was arrested for felony assault for a drunken altercation at a bar that was caught on video. Owen Hayes, a 21 year old junior at TMU, allegedly assaulted an 84-year-old man from behind in an unprovoked incident. The incident occurred on February 28, but Hayes turned himself in on Monday.
It starts with one guy arguing with the geriatric customer, as another man eventually steps between them.
Then the video cuts to a different man — allegedly Hayes — rushing up behind the victim and knocking him to the floor. The older gentleman was reportedly knocked unconscious and hospitalized but fortunately not seriously injured
Mass confusion ensues as people try to calm the situation.
An employee for the bar tells us the victim is a regular at the Doc’s Inn and said the incident was an unprovoked assault.
In the TMZ video of the incident the elderly man is attacked from behind causing a massive scene in the bar as multiple bystanders intervene.
