Mike Huckabee Claims America And Israel Have Spiritual Connection In Confirmation Hearing

When Donald Trump nominated Mike Huckabee to be America’s Ambassador to Israel, Huckabee’s enthusiasm for the job was never to be in question. Jack Graham had Mike Huckabee with him when he announced a replica idol of the “Wailing Wall” at Prestonwood Baptist Church in October. Huckabee is also on the advisory board of All Israel News. So Huckabee’s dedication to Zionism is unparalleled, and this is reflected in a video that went viral during his confirmation hearing.

Israel, in many ways, is a reflection of our own heritage and history. It is the Judeo-Christian law that there is a right and that there is a wrong upon which all of Western civilization is built, but certainly our system of government. There is no country across the globe that more mirrors our own struggle and our own level of democracy than does the state of Israel.

And it’s one of the reasons that it is a natural ally. The spiritual connections between your church, mine, many churches in America, Jewish congregations to the state of Israel is because we ultimately are people of the book. We believe the Bible. And therefore, that connection is not geopolitical. It is also spiritual. And to ignore that, to deny that would be to make it very difficult for us to ever understand how to go forward in a relationship with them.

Huckabee begins the answer by asserting that Jews and Christians have the same morality, which is historically asinine. He also calls America a democracy, which has long been a bugaboo on the right that insists America is a Republic.

Huckabee erroneously compares American history with Israeli history. America, like Israel, has seen the conquest of inferior nations, but America’s struggles and Israel’s struggles aren’t comparable, and Huckabee does not elaborate on this point.

Huckabee’s claim that churches have a spiritual connection with Israel is rather idolatrous. Lastly, Mike Huckabee claims that Jews believe in the Bible, even though they reject the New Testament (and probably Isaiah.) Mike Huckabee exposed his idolatry here.

  1. Gotta admit, this article feels like you phoned it in a little Ray.

“Huckabee begins the answer by asserting that Jews and Christians have the same morality, which is historically asinine. ”

Definition: asinine: adjective, extremely stupid or foolish.

You make an ad hominen claim, but give little evidence to back up your claim. I get you are ‘anti zionist’, and while I like Huckabee’s aw shucks demeanor, the idol thing was definitely jumping the shark.

Also, when you drop a state ment like:

‘but America’s struggles and Israel’s struggles aren’t comparable, and Huckabee does not elaborate on this point.’

You didn’t really elaborate on that point either, honestly, maybe you just have an Axe to grind against mike, maybe there is prior history, but if someone just saw the article out of the blue, they aren’t going to know all the references you have internally, and the reason is, what you understand ‘tacitly’ in your mind, others may not, and this piece did little but blow smoke Mike’s way.

I’d try to unravel the strange logic of the last paragraph, but it begs the question, and seems to assume facts not in evidence in this piece.

  2. America’s struggle and Israel’s struggle are exactly the same: the Jews struggling to take over and then taking over. That’s undoubtedly what Huckabee meant and he’s probably “ethnically” Jewish. How would he be in national politics if he weren’t?
