Jonathan Roumie has become a major celebrity in the Christian community for his portrayal of himself as Jesus in The Chosen. But many Christians are unaware that Jonathan Roumie is not a Christian, adding an extra layer of danger to both The Chosen and his broader celebrity.
For starters, Jonathan Roumie is gay affirming, like most people on The Chosen. His love for Jesuit priest, James Martin were a glaring red flag in 2019 that has gone ignored.
But James Martin has grown in popularity among liberal Catholics, making him especially contentious now that there is an American Pope.
In the third episode of his podcast “The Spiritual Life,” Father James Martin, a heterodox Jesuit priest, featured Pete Buttigieg, the openly gay former Secretary of Transportation. During the episode, Father Martin affirmed Buttigieg’s statements about how his faith in God inspired him to come out as homosexual. He praised Buttigieg as a “model of freedom” for many people.

James Martin praises the parenting of Pete Buttigieg, the homosexual former transportation secretary under Joe Biden. He would even assent to Buttigieg’s comparison to the Holy Trinity.
In typical groomer fashion, James Martin denounced the SCOTUS decision that granted a victory to Christian parents in Montgomery County Public Schools.
Jonathan Roumie has never repudiated Martin’s views, and as the evidence shows, is gay affirming. An issue that would get people canceled in celebrity Christendom is overlooked because Roumie is deemed to be good at looking like Jesus.

Before I knew all the stuff that’s come out about The Chosen I saw that Roumie guy on a magazine cover playing Jesus and said “I am not going to watch any soy boy Jesus series”
There is no absolutely no excuse for any guy who is calling himself trad or based or whatever to swim the Tiber and join the Catholic Church! James Martin, who is indeed a big deal in the US Catholic Church, is Exhibit A.
I asked Gab’s “Arya” AI: Does Jonathan Roumie consider himself a Christian?
Answer: Yes, Jonathan Roumie considers himself a Christian. He is a devout Catholic and is widely known for his portrayal of Jesus Christ in The Chosen, a role that has deepened his public association with Christian faith.
