Lila Rose’s Feminism And The Marriage Crisis

Lila Rose is one of the most prominent leaders of the pro-life movement. As the founder of Live Action, a 501c3, she rakes in a $375k comepensation for her media enterprise. But much like the other girl bosses of Conservative Inc., Rose is a feminist. And thus she lost to streamer, Destiny, in a debate on abortion because she opposed the biblical position that abortion is murder (and the mother is the murderer). But when it comes to commentary on sex in marriage, a recent clip showcased by Lila Rose showcased a plethora of issues.

Lila Rose advertised her interview with Chrissy Horton in a 47-second clip where the two harpies begin ogling a Catholic priest, lauding him as an example of masculinity because of his celibacy. Then the clip shifts to Lila Rose stating that men do not need sex because it’s not water or air. Rose adds in her viral post:

Abstinence isn’t just for priests—intermittent abstinence can also be a beautiful practice within marriage if a couple has a serious reason to delay bringing a baby into the world. When practicing Natural Family Planning (NFP), spouses can grow in self-mastery, deepen their love, and remain faithful to God’s design for marriage.

The clip concludes with Chrissy Horton conjecturing that avoiding sex during ovulation is “steamy” while promoting NFP.

The idea that married men do not need sex runs contrary to God’s design for marriage, as Paul in 1 Corinthians 7 is explicitly clear about conjugal rights and that a lack of sex in marriage leads to problems. Additionally, like water and oxygen, people need sex for the continuation of the species, so sex actually is up there with food and water from a macro standpoint.

The idea of shaming men for libido is not new, although trying to make NFP hot and steamy certainly is a novel cope. The Catholic Church forbade priests from marrying in the early medieval period, and Luther quickly dropped this extrabiblical requirement. Although fasting from sex is prescribed as a practice by Paul, it was not intended as a means of avoiding pregnancy.

Lila Rose is the embodiment of the marriage crisis. For starters, getting married in 2018 after several years of activism, Rose did not take her husband Joe’s last name. In fact, Joe’s last name is not public information, which is odd for a pro-life activist. But in addition to not taking her husband’s last name, screaming feminism, she also lectures married men about not needing sex.

Last week, Protestia kicked off a debate about the “born again OF model” vs the haughty virgin. But either of those two options would be better than marrying women who clearly wear the pants in their respective relationships.
