John Hagee Christian Zionism

Exposing John Hagee’s Night To Worship Israel

Many Protestants rightly call out Roman Catholics for worshipping Mary. However, a more insidious movement within America, boasting 11 million in this example, is the movement of professing Christians who worship Israel. Those who call out one threat should also consider the threat that is more present in their faith tradition. John Hagee hosted his 45th Night To Honor Israel featuring Senator Ted Cruz. Clips have gone viral but they fail to do justice to just how grossly unbiblical Hagee’s sermon was.

Hagee begins for about 7 minutes praising the work of President Trump, but neglects to note that Trump is negotiating a de facto two-state solution, and Vice President Vance warned against Israeli annexation of the West Bank. Nevertheless, Hagee claims God cares a lot more about what America does with Israel than with Russia or China.

What’s important to note is how the gospel is not present during the pinnacle speech of Christians United For Israel. Jesus is mentioned once in Hagee’s speech, crediting Jews for provided the messiah to strikingly little applause. In stark contrast, when Hagee claimed that Israel was unique to the denigration of the United States, the same crowd erupted in applause. But the Son of Man has only the claps of a few in the room.

Christian Zionism, and also dispensationalism, treat Jews as the main characters of Scripture, a fact made evident by Hagee’s futurist readings of prophecies concerning Christ, as well as erroneously applying Isaiah 66:8 to 1948 Israel, claiming that their independence day is the fulfillment of this prophecy. This is erroneous as most nations have an independence day and thus were born in a day.

The longevity of Israel is juxtaposed with the fall of Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Rome, and the British Empire. Bringing up the British Empire was ironic, as no nation contributed more to the creation of Modern Israel. The British gave Modern Israel its territory, and the British Empire is accursed. It’s last gasp as a world power was conspiring with France and Israel to attack Egypt in 1956, only for America to put the kibosh on their efforts. The British Empire died, and the UK is in the sorry state its in now.

The British Empire is the clearest example of Christian Zionism’s promise of blessing Israel, resulting in blessings being untrue, as they gave up land and prestige and collapsed anyway. America likewise has not seen any blessings from paying tribute to Israel.

John Hagee briefly rants against so-called replacement theology, insisting that Jews are God’s chosen people. But the question remains, why would God send His chosen people to hell? Unless John Hagee’s implication is that Jews do not need Jesus to go to Heaven. John Hagee can rant about antisemitism all day, but no one hates Jews more than the man who worships them to hell.

  1. I grew up listening and believing this nonsense. I also would watch his programs and read his books. It’s heresy and non biblical.

  2. As a non- Dispensationalist who loves both Israel and the Jewish people, I agree. It’s one thing to stand with Israel in what would have been called ‘an honest friendship’ by at least one Founder. It’s a whole different action to insist that anyone is getting in to Heaven by any other means than the one all the Apostles and Prophets proclaimed.(and one that Messianic Jews refuse to deny, in spite of so-called friends who would proclaim a different Gospel) The Dispensationalists are losing it here, and it may well be the Jewish Believers in Jesus who call them out on it first! After all they are some the hardest workers in the field for evangelizing.
