David Wood

On David Wood And Scandal

David Woods is a popular Christian apologist with 384k subs and is a frequent debater against Islam. On a recent livestream with Sam Shamoun, David Wood would confess to past sins, including statutory rape, after he found out that Muslim apologists were going to blackmail him over that.

David Wood would confess that while out on bail for attempted patricide, he had sex with the 13 year old and a 15 year old. These sordid details were not previously known. In the broader context, David Wood committed a felonious assault and theft at his jobs while out on bail. Then he went to teen parties with alcohol, marijuana, and sex where a 13 year old came on to him. David Wood does not defend his actions; he reiterates that he was not saved and was psychopathic as a teenager. He was 18 at the time. Before his trial, he had planned to burn down someone’s house.

David Wood had a bold strategy, but the biggest backlash would come from Muslims and feminists in the church. Wood would receive a libelous writeup from Julie Roys’s outlet which salaciously advertised his “rape” confession as “remorseless.”

Obviously, fornication is sin, but this is not, biblically, rape. But the overlooked fact is, these fornications are not the worst sins he confessed to. Attempting patricide is a violation of the 5th and 6th Commandments. So the people wanting to cancel David Wood over statutory rape have misplaced sensibilities.

Moreover, the saving work of Christ means that these sins should not be counted against him. As far as earthly consequences go, he already paid the penalty for his crimes. So several years removed, society would view him as a rehabilitated criminal, meaning these crimes would not be permanently disqualifying.
