Vanguard University is a Southern California liberal arts college born of the Pentecostal faith tradition. Its TPUSA chapter was founded in 2023 with Sarah Stock of Rift TV (Elijah Schaffer’s company). Vangaurd University has implemented a policy banning all political, religious, and ideological clubs on campus.
Sarah Stock highlights that Vanguard wants to move in an apolitical direction whereby identity in Christ is prioritized over politics. However, woke race-based student unions still operate freely on campus, in a glaring hypocrisy.
Sadie Burnett, the president of the chapter, states:
As the only active political organization on campus, in the midst of several racial and cultural clubs that are ideological in nature and have spread anti-conservative political propaganda, the denial of my TPUSA chapter is unjust and irrational. When discussing with the VU administration, there was no political or ideological criteria that TPUSA fit into that the racial and cultural clubs did not. My TPUSA chapter can no longer book rooms for meetings, host events, rush at club rush, or table on campus.
In addition to woke student unions, Vanguard University also has a Global Center for Women & Justice, a poorly named anti-human trafficking organization, and the Jesse Miranda Center for Hispanic Leadership.
