The Southern Baptist Convention has invested millions of dollars in the narrative that it is a hive of sex abuse and sex abuse cover-up. Its star victim, the now deceased Jennifer Lyell, was in a relationship with a married man for 12 years, which is only considered abuse if you are a rabid MeToo feminist. As it happened, the Southern Baptist Convention was in no short supply, as in 2021, the woke mob voted to waive attorney-client privilege and fund an investigation, only to relitigate the Lyell case and bring about multiple lawsuits. The SBC has invested a lot in maintaining the lie that Lyell was abused, and now court records and evidence has blown what’s left of the Southern Baptist propaganda out of the water.
Megan Basham posted many screenshots from court records of the David Sills lawsuit, including depositions and emails.
A series of flirtatious emails emerged, damning Lyell’s victimhood status.
Here Lyell not only misses David Sills, a married man, but she is well beyond platonic in these emails that sing his praises. She even cracks an Asian driving joke, which denotes a level of familiarity along with clear inside jokes or lore. The thirst is strong in Jennifer Lyell, but she’s prayed about it and feels good about it. It’s clear from her own words that this was not an abusive relationship.
But if you don’t believe Jennifer Lyell was abused, you might be a meanihead.
This narrative, especially surrounding Jennifer Lyell was used to initiate the Guidepost Report which focused mainly on Lyell and Johnny Hunt, neither were within the scope of the investigation. Nevertheless, Lyell was used by liberals to take over the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention which has since had to come to grips with the fiscal retardation of its 2021 decisions.
On top of this, Rachael Denhollander who represented Jennifer Lyell against the Southern Baptist Convention, was allowed to make material edits to the Guidepost Report, eliminating any pretense of independence to the investigation.
The Southern Baptist Convention went woke and is desperately trying to avoid going broke. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see how they come to grips with the public smoking guns regarding their favorite fake abuse victim.
