Mark Driscoll made a massive comeback in 2023, preaching against feminism and homosexuality. Specifically, he did a viral sermon series on Elijah attacking the demonic influence of Jezebel spirits. Last week, Mark Driscoll promoted a sermon by Millicent Sedra, a celebrity megachurch pastrix in Australia.
Millicent Sedra is evidently touring in the United States with her less internationally famous husband and made a stop at Driscoll’s The Trinity Church in Arizona, where she preached to their women.
.@echochurch_'s @MillicentSedra gives a stern warning.

Feminism is the most anti-female movement, and not only does lies to and attack women, it attacks God and His Word. pic.twitter.com/q1LLrnsXj7
Mark Driscoll then promoted her sermon on his channel. Sedra is an obvious hypocrite preaching against feminism for others while being a beneficiary of it. Female pastors are the direct result of feminism and proto-feminist movements, all born out of rejecting God’s word. Driscoll’s promotion of Sedra drew immediate backlash.
Protestia wrote the first article on the subject, attracting Driscoll’s ire.
Fuller context of Driscoll’s recent sermon about us. And folks; it’s bad, with Mark repeatedly lying. 🚨🚨🚨
1. He doesn’t seem to be a fan of new media, saying that blogs, social media, and YouTube “do not count as journalism” and should not be considered ‘news.’

Driscoll lies about social media not being a source of news and journalism (see Nick Shirley who broke the Somali fraud scandal on and for social media). Then, he accused Protestia of neglecting to mention that Driscoll had a female pastor preach to women. THey did, but this detail was relatively immaterial to the story.
Driscoll allowed a female pastor to preach to his women against feminism and endorsed her pastoral ministry in the process. Moreover, he published the sermon on his channel, meaning she was no longer preaching just to women but to his audience as well.
Egalitarians have often drawn the distinction that female pastors can exist but only preach to women or that they can exist but under the headship of a man. In either case, 1 Timothy 2 is violated.
Reaching out to Driscoll to comment and he proved obstinate in his resolve to understand his actions and the surrounding context, framing the issue as to whether women can teach women as opposed to the objection that he is endorsing the concept of female pastors.
Mark Driscoll would resort to calling opponents racists, like a liberal, and accusing them of slander. This is what the young people call a crashout. And moving forward, Mark Driscoll should be recognized as an egalitarian.
