Another peace deal has been announced in Iran, but on Sunday, it was for real as even the Iranians confirmed it. As many Americans, particularly those who drive, are relieved at the prospect of America’s exit from the Iran War, a number of pastors got the talking points about how this is actually bad, revealing their disloyalty to America, as well as their susceptibility to foreign propaganda campaigns. Christian Zionists will have to make a difficult decision to either cope or seethe.
Our first stop is Jack Hibbs, who has already proven he will lie for Israel. Posting an article to an obscure Israeli propaganda outlet, Hibb said:
Israel needs to throw off Trumps yoke and get the job done. Deal or no deal, Israel is fighting for its existence while America looks for a good business opportunity.
Side note: Israel Today only gets twice as much web traffic as Evangelical Dark Web, which for a website, means it must have serious backing that funds it to have multiple staffers, freelancers, etc. It appears, Hibbs has chosen seethe.
Next up is John Hagee, who received the praise of Mark Levin, calling him the “great pastor” for posting his preemptive opposition to the deal.
No deal is better than a bad deal.
I pray that America’s leaders will discern what Iran seeks to obscure and conceal. Iran cannot be trusted on words alone, and any deal with this regime must include ironclad nuclear restrictions, with equally strong and supportable verification and enforcement.  Â
Not one penny should be released to this murderous regime so long as it continues to build missiles, support its terrorist proxies, and withhold funds from victims of Iranian terrorism. Â
I pray that President Trump has the courage to do what is right and good for our nation and the nations of the free world.
Hagee operates in a different reality where astrology means something, and in that reality, the Iranian regime was tinkering on collaspe and needs a final push. But this narrative was naught to be seen during the war. The Iranian regime lost its head a few times, but nothing close to a popular uprising took place. If anything, the regime that went toe-to-toe with America has an emboldened legitimacy. It’s possible their internal quabbles will sabotage peace, but it’s certain that gay democracy will not be coming to Iran. Hagee’s Christians United For Israel NGO would promote Israeli coverage of these developments which note the lack of war aims achieved and Israel’s unwillingness to withdraw from Lebanon. Hagee appears to have chosen cope.
And finally, there is Christian Zionist pastor and founder of Behold Israel, Amir Tsarfati, who decided to state how this was America abandoning Israel as Scripture foretold.
Let’s set aside the frustration, anger, and sadness over what may prove to be the greatest American capitulation in modern history and look at the situation from a biblical perspective.
Two foundational truths are worth remembering:
- Iran (Persia) will remain an enemy of Israel and will join a coalition determined to destroy her.
- America will not stand with Israel militarily when that coalition comes against her.
Once you understand these truths, everything unfolding before our very eyes begins to make sense.
Amir Tsarfati has most certainly chosen cope. Perhaps the next Iran War will finally be the apocalypse for the crowd that uses the newspaper for exegesis. There are more examples to cite, but like a good Baptist, 3 is enough.

One Response
Leaving end times theology aside for the moment, based solely on actual results of the past 60 years of diplomacy and warfare, only a fool would trust the U.S. as a long-term ally. Thanks to our political system of mostly two competing political parties, any promises made by the leader of one party can reliably be expected to last no longer than whenever the other party next gains power.
I really like Jack Hibbs as a pastor on all other issues.
