Douglas Murray's Hypocrisy

Douglas Murray, Credentialism, And DEI Hires

The recent Joe Rogan episode featuring Douglas Murray and Dave Smith. Murray is a British writer championed in Conservative Inc., and Dave Smith is a libertarian comedian. The debate turned more into a scolding as Murray took issue with Darryl Cooper, Ian Carroll, and other guest appearances on the Joe Rogan Experience. In a rather notorious clip, Dave Smith and Douglas Murray get heated about the expert class and credentialism.

It begins with Dave Smith asserting that the American wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were lies prompting people to question what other wars are lies. Douglas Murray scolds Smith for watering the seeds of doubt in th World War II narrative and Churchill’s heroism. Dave Smith is dismissive of the topic insisting he’s interested in the recent American conflicts. The underlying context for this is Darryl Cooper’s appearance on Joe Rogan and also Tucker Carlson.

Murray claims that Darryl Cooper is a shapeshifter, comparing him and his defenders to jelly, because he runs a major history podcast, Martyr Made, despite not claiming to be a historian. Murray also accuses Cooper of hyping himself as the greatest historian of our time, to Joe Rogan’s disagreement. Rogan then disagrees that Cooper has practiced revisionism. Murray accuses Cooper, Smith, and perhaps Rogan of being jelly despite reframing Darryl Cooper multiple times in less than two minutes because his argument was indefensible.

Murray ultimately takes issue with nonexperts sharing their opinions on current and past wars, but really only when they disagree with him. The conversation climaxes when David Smith rebuts Murray by stating that the expert class has no credibility, citing Covid lockdowns.

The great irony here is that Douglas Murray is a journalist. According to his own standards, he’s not an expert in virtually anything. To make matters worse, his biggest area of expertise is the only reason he has a career. Considering that Murray is pro-abortion and pro-sodomy, he is not remotely right-wing. Yet, he lectures Americans on politics despite having no victories to show for his own methods. His liberalism, we’ve long been familiar with, but I was unaware he was as much a Zionist shill, let alone was buttbuddies with a Jew.

This, paired with his homosexuality, made him a perfect candidate to grift Conservative Inc. here in the states. Conservative Inc. loves DEI hires. Candace Owens certainly is a high-profile example of someone who started out as a diversity hire, but branched out after becoming disillusioned with the industry, to say nothing of the merits of her views. Dave Rubin at Blaze Media, Amy Coney Barrett on the Supreme Court, and even Vivek Ramaswamy are all DEI projects of Conservative Inc. Rubin got in early as the “gay conservative” despite purchasing a child. Amy Coney Barrett was GOATed as a SCOTUS pick despite her questionable track record as a judge. And Vivek Ramaswamy used his pump and dump riches to become Conservative Inc.’s favorite Hindu, who now runs for governor of Ohio.

None of these people would have gotten anywhere without their diversity quotas being met, because they lack the merits otherwise. Douglas Murray’s lament about experts and credentialism is hilarious given that he’s a DEI hire with neither the talent nor the intellect to make it in American media.
