Southern Baptist Convention Passes Mohler Amendment To Ban Female Pastors

In a resounding victory, Southern Baptists voted on Al Mohler’s amendment to ban female pastors during the morning session of day 2. Yesterday, the convention voted to suspend standing rule six to hold a vote at this convention.

The amendment reads:

[A cooperating Southern Baptist Church] Does not act to affirm, appoint, or endorse a woman serving in the office or function of a pastor, elder, or overseer, specifically preaching to the assembled congregation.

The original amendment originally said “such as” but was watered down to “specifically,” codifying a loophole if exploited. However, the election of Willy Rice means that the liberal Baptists will have less control over the nominations to the credentials committee who will enforce this measure.

The amendment passed with little debate in a 74.66%-25.09 rout that sent a message.

Last year the Southern Baptist Convention refused to ban female pastors for the second consecutive year, as only 60.74% voted for the then Mike Law Amendment. In 2024, the same amendment failed, getting 61.45% when the convention was held in Indianapolis, where it will be held next year.

But this was a different voter pool than the last two years as 6028 was the most ever recorded votes for and 2026 is the fewest recorded votes against. Turnout proved key to this success.

2026 might mark the year of the Conservative Resurgence 2.0 as it was the first good convention in a long time.

  1. I don’t share this optimism. Since the SBC has been founded, it is the predictor for a lost cause. It was formed because of abolitionists and then lost that culture war. Then it moved on to supporting segregation and lost that culture war as well. The SBC is now pretty much looking forward to get mainstream society’s idea of gender forced onto it down the line, most likely by some future federal government.

  2. The only things the Southern Baptist Convention stands for are: worshipping the jews, zionism, holocaust grovelling, open borders, cultural marxism, miscegenation, and race-mixing.

The sooner the Southern Baptist Convention (more like southern jew-worshipping convention) goes bankrupt, the better.

  3. And that’s what the amendment is actually aimed at: Keeping the heresy of dispensationalism afloat in the SBC by expelling “liberal” dissenters. Nobody really cares about women pastors, zionism the real thing at stake. In the end the SBC will also lose the gender cause, while saving a “Christianity” subordinated to another religion in the process – the only thing GOP actually cares about.
