The 2026 Election was a historic disaster for Republicans and should be a wake up call. Whether President Trump will heed the wise counsel of JD Vance is yet to be seen, but it’s is obvious and apparent that the Iran War was the main culprit for the calamitous results, which are comparable only to the Great Depression for Republicans. The 2026 Election is not only a damning indictment of neoconservatism, but also of dispensationalism.
John Hagee described the strikes on Iran as prophetically “right on cue,” part of a divine plan involving Ezekiel and God intervening against Israel’s enemies.
Greg Laurie claimed that the Iranian retaliation towards Israel was a fulfillment of biblical prophesy.
Joel C. Rosenberg, editor of All Israel News, argued for the Iran War’s prophetic significance through the lens of Jeremiah 49.
Robert Jeffress boasted of his support during the 2025 12 Day War, “Unlike any other nation in the world, God created the nation of Israel. Israel was His idea, and He said Israel will endure forever. He contrasted this with the fate of other nations, including the United States, which he said lacked such a divine assurance. “
It’s clear that the most mainstream dispensationalist view the Iran War as prophetically signifficant, but as the theology of dispensationalism has been watered down since its origination, the core claim rests on promises made to Israel (actually made to Abraham and his seed) of the Old Testament in Genesis 12: “And I will bless those who bless you,
And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”
The crux of dispensationalism is that these promises are to modern Jews as a distinct chosen people from Christians. The dispensational interpretation of Genesis 12 has had many supposedly Reformed figures caving in recent years, including Wayne Grudem, Al Mohler, and Jon Harris. None would claim to be dispensationalists, but functionally they are based on their interpretation of this verse.
But Paul settles Genesis 12 clearly in Galatians 3. But as a proper thought exercise, if the blessings and promises of Genesis 12 are applied to modern Jews, it stands to reason that philosemitism should confer divine favor.
America has certainly blessed Israel. In addition to billions in funding. America bailed them out in the Yom Kippur War. And America is fighting their battles against Iran in the second Trump Administration. America’s blessings toward Israel have been bountiful and without end.
But America is a nation in crisis. There is rampant foreign idolatry, murder of babies, sexual debauchery, and covetousness. We need to return to the Lord. And America’s blessing of Israel has prior to the Iran War shown know blessing to the United States. Our culture was in decay, and our people were abandoning God. The Iran War took a positive vibe shift in America and sank it into the ground. The economy soured despite what Trump’s cooked metrics say, and Americans showed how they felt about the gas prices and subsequent inflation at the ballot box.
The state of America’s future is in flux. What was promising in 2024 and early 2025 has cratered into uncertainty. Democrats, if they gain power, will unleash the Third World to ethnically cleanse American stock, so that they will have a permanent advantage. All this is possible, perhaps likely, because the Iran War was a generational blunder, Trump’s second one of those.
The Christian Zionists, like John Hagee, took the dispensationalist interpretation of Genesis 12 and turned it into something more perverse than the Prosperity Gospel, but this false gospel has failed. It does not save.
