Steven Crowder, a professing Christian is the largest conservative YouTuber and a trailblazer on the platform. Yet amidst his transition from BlazeTV to Rumble, cohost Dave Landau was not set to return. Dave Landau is talented a comedian brought that Crowder hired after several appearances with him on the show. On an interview with Michael Malice, Dave Landau set out to set the record straight with his fans about why he’s no longer with Louder With Crowder in a dynamic interview.
Key Points
- Dave Landau asserts that Crowder set up “no talking” lights for Dave so that Dave would not upstage Steven Crowder when they were going back and fourth with improvised jokes. Dave Landau is convinced this is the result of professional jealousy as Landau is the more successful comic.
- Dave asserts that he was made to work Fridays in which Crowder would no-show.
- Dave asserts that he was barred from promoting his standup tour on the show, moreover, that Crowder took measures to prevent him from doing shows without Crowder on weekends via capricious scheduling. Crowder also wanted to establish ownership of Landau’s material.
- Dave asserts that his contract with LWC was terminated August 2022. He refused to sign the new employment contract or the 1099 contract and kept receiving current pay.
- Dave Landau bears no ill-will towards Steven Crowder, stating that they could have been a great team.
“Everything runs on hypocrisy and drama; it’s the lubricant of our society.” – Dave Landau
Analysis
The interview was a bad look for Steven Crowder, who billed himself earlier this year fighting Conservative Inc. Dave Landau provides evidence of the poor working conditions working for Crowder showing screenshots of the contract proposal which had penalties as capricious if not more than the contract terms that Crowder aired out with the Daily Wire and promptly rejected. Landau was paid around $300k salary for his contribution to the high budget conservative show but was being offered less money to remain on staff. Unsurprisingly, Landau has little sympathy for Crowder’s public feud with the Daily Wire, as he was set to see very little of the $50 million dollar offer in the first place.
Crowder is ultimately being accused of hypocrisy, by Landau. The parable of the wicked servant comes to mind in which a massive debt is forgiven by the master but he beats a fellow servant who debt was comparably trivial.
There are two sides to every story, yet much of Landau’s side has corroborating evidence. Steven Crowder frequently missed shows and consistently demonstrated a pattern of always having to have the last punchline on their back and fourth. Crowder has a history of falling outs with former cohosts, Owen Benjamin and Not Gay Jared. It’s very likely that there wasn’t a good guy in the dispute with Daily Wire and Steven Crowder.
Dave Landau announced an upcoming comedy show with Blaze TV which will feature Blaze media personality’s in comedy sketches among others, to be produced with Quarter Black Garrett, another former Crowder cohost, who left on amicable terms.
One Response
Thanks for reporting. I’ve watched LWC for many years but have stopped in the past year or so. Disappointing to see. Don’t forget Audio Wade went to Canon Press but I don’t think he left on bad terms.
