The prospect of mortality will change a man. Ronald Reagan famously wrote a diary entry in which he turned to God in the aftermath of getting shot. Donald Trump has been far from the Kingdom of God; however, Trump should recognize that God saved his life yesterday when the odds were stacked against him.
Consider that Secret Service was not on the giant rooftop that provided elevation for a gunman to take aim at the former President. Consider that bystanders were reporting the gunman’s location to police and were ignored. The Secret Service, although aiming in the direction where the shots came from was not able to strike first. I am not stroking conspiracy theories at the moment, but I’m just counting coincidences.
And then how Thomas Matthew Crooks was able to sneak past police, get on a rooftop, and be in position on time. His shots narrowly missed Donald Trump by mere inches. This is providential.
I’ve often criticized Trump for Caesarean rhetoric without the results. The exploits of Julius Caesar show that he cheated death up to nine times. Cheating death is the most Caesarean thing Trump has ever done, and the glory of this providence should go to the God of the universe. Pray that Donald Trump’s heart will be softened as a result of a near death experience.

Amen, brother! I am praying for the salvation of President Trump. If God uses this incident to humble him and bring him to a saving knowledge of Christ, it will have been worth it for Donald and it will bring glory to our great God. Our God can save any sinner who repents and trusts Jesus as the only means for salvation.
