Greg Laurie Opens Trump Rally With Prayer

Greg Laurie is one of the most prominent preachers in America, and his conversion story was told in the popular Jesus Revolution movie. On Saturday, Trump hosted a rally in Coachella, California and Greg Laurie turned up to give the opening prayer.

Father, America was your idea before it was the idea of any man. This land has been a refuge for those yearning for freedom and it has arisen to be the most powerful and wealthy country in history and it’s been a blessing to the world. Lord, you’ve blessed America and we all have benefited from that blessing. So God, give us the privilege to pass on the America we have known for future generations. We pray for your blessing on this nation, for your mercy on this nation and we pray for all leaders that you will guide and direct them, whatever their politics, but we pray especially for our friend today President Donald Trump we thank you for protecting his life from two assassination attempts. You put your angels around him. You put a hedge of protection around him. Now give him wisdom may he be closer to you than he has ever been before.

This is not Greg Laurie’s first foray into promoting Donald Trump. But it comes at a time when Democrats are funneling money to subvert the Evangelical voting bloc.

  1. The Evangelical voters began thinking twice about DJT when he took a step backward on the abortion rights issue. Unfortunately Pastor Greg Laurie probably won’t influence many who have decided not to vote or not to vote for DJT. Christians need to look at our right to vote as God given and take it as a responsibility. We need to cast our vote for whoever holds the closest to our biblical positions, whether or not they are a believer.

  2. I went to a Greg Lauri church in Irvine one time and they escorted my family out because they don’t allow small children in the sanctuary (no the kids weren’t screaming. we didn’t even get to sit down)

  3. While I can agree with the prayer, I believe it was lacking any mention of repentance, which IMHO believe it is not only important but necessary given the current estate of affairs in our nation. I do echo what Beth Gonzales said and I do like the closing petition, for DJT to get closer to the LORD than he has ever been, the closer he is to the LORD, the closer his positions will be to a Biblical worldview. It is much easier for the Holy Spirit to move and motivate one who is a professing Christian than it is to change the course of history with one who appears to be a field grade officer for the opposition.
