Russell Moore is one of the biggest sellouts in Evangelicalism. The longtime liberal arose out of the Southern Baptist Convention to become the editor-in-chief of Christianity Today. Trump famously attacked Russell Moore in 2016, noticing the fraud he was before many Evangelicals. On Friday, Russell Moore would clutch his pearls and think of the children about Trump’s recent comments on Liz Cheney.
It is disgusting and disgraceful that our children are growing up to see this as normal. May God have mercy. https://t.co/QY4ECQMl7F

Taken at face value, Russell Moore is condemning rhetoric against war profiteers like Liz and Dick Cheney. But the short clip leaves out much context, as Trump was largely calling her a craven who does not have the stomach to fight the wars she would happily send others to die in. This is what additional context, deliberately sliced out shows.
She wanted to go–she wanted to stay in Syria. I took them out. She wanted to stay in Iraq. I took them out. I mean, if we’re up to her, we’d, we’d, be in 50 different countries. She’s a radical war hawk.
Let’s put her with a rifle, standing there with nine barrels shooting at her. Okay? Let’s see how she feels about it, you know, when the guns are trained on her face? You know they’re all war hawks when they’re sitting in Washington in a nice building saying, ‘oh, gee, well, let’s send, let’s send, 10,000 troops right into the mouth of the enemy!
Russell Moore is not the only liberal in Evangelicalism to champion Liz Cheney, a nepobaby whose father was also a liberal. Ray Ortlund also proposed that Liz Cheney winning the Democrat nomination would unite the country. Obviously, this is out of touch with the American people, but to Big Eva mean tweets are more unconscionable than war profiteering and corruption.
