The Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches announced a celebration of Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 election, becoming the first major denomination to do so.
On Tuesday, CREC announced:
The CREC rejoices in the victory of Donald J. Trump as our 47th President!
We believe his victory will provide great consolation to our congregations in the United States. While we will have a voice in the White House who will not persecute or entangle our churches in political and social turmoil, we believe that the Church is
fundamentally responsible for pursuing righteousness as ambassadors of hope in this world.
Therefore, we urge CREC congregations and other Bible-believing traditions to rejoice in God’s kind providence, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness, and continue to labor for the good of the city in word and deed. We exhort local churches to pray for our leaders and boldly call our nation to repentance by exhorting the civil magistrates to submit to the Lord Jesus Christ.
