Mark Dever To Speak At The Master’s University

Mark Dever has been a key figure in advancing the Social Justice Gospel in Evangelicalism. He and his organization 9 Marks promoted Critical Race Theory as early as 2014. Within his own church, Dever peddled Critical Race Theory in the Sunday school curriculum, and his right hand man Jonathan Leeman has been a woke Social Justice advocate for a decade and the Capitol Hill Baptist Church has been a proving ground for various woke preachers, most notably Thabiti Anyabwile.

So why is Mark Dever, a decidedly woke pastor speaking at The Master’s University chapel? The Master’s University is the Bible college of John MacArthur, pastor of Grace Community Church in California. MacArthur famously was an initial signatory on the Dallas Statement on Social Justice and the Gospel. However, John MacArthur has continued to partner with woke pastors ever since, most notably John Piper who went woke in 2016, and Ligon Duncan who wrote the forward to reparations activist Eric Mason’s Woke Church. Alistair Begg is the only pastor in recent memory to be canceled from a MacArthur World conference for woke statements.

Mark Dever is slated to speak at The Master’s University chapel on the 27th and 29th of January causing concern among students at the seemingly conservative seminary. Also, TMU canceled chapel on the 20th for MLK Day which is rather woke.

At TMU, students are required to attend chapel with allowances for missed days. So with some caveats, students are being forced to listen to a woke preacher at the seminary where its longtime fearless leader stood opposed to wokeness.

  1. As a famous gangster once said when he was asked why he robbed banks, “That’s where the money is.” Any institution that is built up to where it is worth taking over or making use of is going to be taken over or made use of. Buy the time it happens in an obvious public way like this, the institution will have long been infiltrated. Never invest more in an institution than you can walk away from when it inevitably goes bad.

  2. “Also, TMU canceled chapel on the 20th for MLK Day which is rather woke.”

So basically, TMU cancelled God to honor MLK, because MLK is more important than God to them.

I guess we know who MacArthur’s “god” really is.
