Mark Driscoll has reemerged as one of the most prolific pastors in the United States. Despite the controversy and Christianity Today’s podcast attacking him, Driscoll is perhaps stronger than ever, as his detractors exposed themselves as liberal on Covid and Critical Race Theory. Driscoll has taken aim at homosexuality and transgenderism in the past for their demonic inspiration, but now he’s taking on feminism.
The problem with Evangelicalism is that it’s built to keep Karen happy, not Jesus.
The concept of the longhouse was popularized by Lomez in an essay that critiques gynocratic culture taking inspiration from Native American culture and its den mothers.
Mark Driscoll’s claim that Evangelical churches are appeasing the proverbial Karen at the expense of sound doctrine and teaching. And there are numerous examples of this. Many false teachers cater to women, such as Michael Todd and Levi Lusko. Moreover, there is an active push for MeToo Feminism in the church as well as a renewed push for female pastors even if under different names.
And while the Roman Catholic Church is feminized by Mariolatry, the Evangelical church wrestles with this disposition. Branch Covidianism which prioritized perceived safety over orthopraxis was driven largely by the proverbial Karens. This problem has not been resolved, but we are beginning to see things like empathy challenged.
