Colorado Senate Passes Child Transgenderism Bill, Sends To Governor Jared Polis

The Colorado legislature just passed some of the most radical transgenderism legislation in the country, targeting parents who refuse to turn their children into transvestites.

Colorado House Bill 25-1312 is just that bad. The bill states that “a court shall consider deadnaming, misgendering, or threatening to publish material related to an individual’s gender-affirming health-care services as types of coercive control.” This means that parents who refuse to transgender their children have a legal basis for the government to take them away via family courts. Additionally, the bill defines “deadnaming and misgendering as discriminatory acts in the ‘Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act’, and prohibits these discriminatory acts in places of public accommodation.”

The bill passed the Senate 40-24 along party lines. J Chase David, a pastor and leading activist opposing the legislation, stated about the results on Tuesday:

“This bill is an egregious assault on Christians and Coloradans. While the godless Left, the Democrats, are the party who pushed this legislation, Christians are not without any blame. We have allowed this anti-God environment in our state to grow up right under our noses—and our church steps.

Pastors who have, for years now, given approval to Christians voting Democrat need to take responsibility. They have people in their church who have voted for government officials that want to “trans” kids and persecute Christians. It’s time to wake up! At this point, voting for Democrats is like voting for Nero.

And churches who have promoted “third-way winsome witness” approaches to politics and discipleship also need to take a good hard look in the mirror of God’s Word and consider how this came to pass—and what role their retreat from the public square may have played in it.

As for me and my church, we will serve the Lord. Even if it’s signed into law, we will not comply. We will protect our children. And God’s Word will not be muzzled by me, my fellow pastors, or our church.

Because it is in God we trust, not the government.”

The bill goes to Governor Jared Polis, who is gay and Jewish and is believed to support the legislation.
