The Josh Buice scandal had an interesting twist last week when Julie Roys published an email from Josh Buice’s burner, which sought to direct the Roys Report’s feminist gaze towards Voddie Baucham and Tom Ascol. This occurred in December of 2024 and focused on events from 2021, even ones that were adjudicated at the time.
Although Julie Roys would not run with the story at the time, she would run with it now that Josh Buice has taken the reputational beating for having maligned, baselessly, Voddie Baucham.
Roys would go on to say:
Now that the allegations are public, it’s incumbent on Baucham and Ascol to provide documentation. It’s really not complicated.
Note, it was Roys who made the allegations public, as Josh Buice did release his burner email address. Roys states that the tip Buice sent was not pursued because it was anonymous, but now that she knows its Buice’s words, she is running with it.
Lastly, our article was exposing fact that Josh Buice leveled allegations about Voddie’s GoFundMe thu anon account. We didn’t do report allegations when we received them b/c they were anon. But it is odd Voddie & Tom won’t produce documentation.
Evangelical Dark Web gets a number of tips like Julie Roys did, but I will say that we don’t attract a crowd of people looking to slander ministry rivals. Anyway, a tip like Buice’s would not have been rejected for anonymity but lack of evidence. Evidently, Julie Roys wants on-the-record witnesses and couldn’t care less about evidence.

Personally I don’t care if someone raises more money than they needed for their need on GoFundMe, unless they’re scum like Karmelo. But for those who do care about that kind of thing, Julie Roys is just providing the service those kind of people demand. So from that perspective, this is a nothing burger. Of course I also think Voddie is scum due to teaching that babies are “vipers in diapers” which fosters child abuse, so not sure I really view him much different than Karmelo, and therefore in a sense, he deserves it.
Also, if it were a White pastor people would not be making such a big deal about this. This is just black worship, pure and simple. I will side with Julie Roys because she is White; Voddie is a black heretic that preaches child abuse and probably donated some of that $1m he made to Karmelo’s mansion fund. So I’m on the White woman’s side here. And remember, Buice only got involved because Voddie came back to the US from some African country. Let him go back to his homeland and leave ours.
