Within Conservative media Megan Basham has been a voice within the Daily Wire that is generally reliable at bringing issues within American Protestantism to a wider audience, which is the real significance behind books like Shepherd’s For Sale.
Basham even played a role in highlighting the degeneracy promoted by Chip and Joanna Gaines, yet when it comes to the sodomites she knows, Basham plays a different tune. At the Daily Wire, Andrew Klavan is a universalist who has long endorsed his son’s homosexual marriage, of which Spencer Klavan twists Scripture to justify. Both men claim to be Christians.
Despite all this publicly accessible information, Megan Basham endorses Spencer Klavan:

The underlying context is that Andrew Klavan promoted a work by his son and Mr. Phillip decided to ask the question of why anyone should care what a sodomite thinks. To this, Basham replied that “Spencer is a kind, brilliant, and wonderful person. Love him.” Andrew Klavan promoted the article as a rediscovery of the God of simple men.
Basham proceeded to fight numerous responses to her posts, but the sentiments captured above summarize most of her responses. She both endorses Klavan as wonderful and brilliant while using the tired and ineffective cliché of “love the sin, hate the sinner.”
Just the other day, Megan Basham correctly pointed out both the compromise and the sources of compromise for Chip and Joanna Gaines.
Regarding the phrase, “Love the Sin, Hate the Sinner,” it is not an effective means of Evangelism because it does not overcome the core objection with the sinner who identifies as their sin. Moreover, the LORD hates both the sinner and sin. Sinners go to hell, not sins. The six things the LORD hates and seven which are abominations were not the sins themselves, but those who commit them. Following this slogan will more likely lead to compromise than repentance. Basham exhibits this compromise regarding this particular queer who is affiliated with the Daily Wire and so happens to be “married” to Joshua Herr, General Counsel for the Daily Wire.
Basham objects to “mean” words towards gays, but in the end, tolerance of sodomites is itself antinomian. Befriending queers is by definition tolerance. The “gay friend” motif increased social acceptability of the homosexual community. It was propagandized through Hollywood depictions, many of which targeted women, that portrayed an elevated view of homosexuals. This led to an increase in support for gay “marriage” and eventually transgenderism. Leviticus 18 makes exceedingly clear that such abominations should have someone cut off from their people. Paul makes clear that such should be excommunicated from the church, of which both Klavan’s claim Christianity. Tolerance is what led to Alistair Begg’s horrendous advice, where Scripture would advise a total disowning of such a family member unless they repent.
Mean words are mercy compared to what should happen to what Scripture denotes as a capital crime. Such behaviors were criminalized and discriminated against for good reasons. Moreover, such derogatory language brings an element of shame towards both the sinner and the behavior itself. The original Groyper Wars asked the question, “How does anal sex win the culture war?” This denigrating approach towards homosexuals in the Conservative movement has proven to shift the needle back in the right direction. It came at a time when Con Inc. was compromising on the issues. The necessary outcry against Dave Rubin purchasing children was a major inflection point on the Right. By defending Spencer Klavan, Basham is just staking ground further up the slippery slope. Mean words and memes are the most effective weapons in the culture war.
In the end, what difference is there between Chip and Joanna Gaines tolerating sodomites in their jobs? Doubtless, they would call Billy Jack Brawner a “kind, lovely, brilliant person” despite his devil’s threesome marriage bed. Surely, they would likely have said the same about the sodomite couple who purchased twin boys. Or is the procurement of children where Megan Basham draws the line? Would Spencer Klavan still be brilliant if he and his butt-buddy purchased children through IVF?
Megan Basham endorses both Spencer Klavan’s work and his character in what is rank hypocrisy. There is no separating Spencer Klavan, Dave Rubin, Rob Smith, or Guy Benson from their buggery. Christians must return to an approach of shame and marginalization. There needs to be harsh language in regards to sins, not euphemisms like “same-sex attracted.” A Zero Tolerance approach will change the culture, as aggressive pushback has been effective over the past several years. No generation of Christians prior to WWII would tolerate sodomy the way Megan Basham does, nor should Christians start now.
One Response
The double standard may be because Klavan is a Jew, and thus a god to a Zionist, so he can’t be criticized. This is why I call him out for being a Jew first and then condemn him for holding the gay theology of his degenerate Christ-Hating race that never gets erased despite their fake conversions: see Redeemed Zoomer.
