Total Victory: Southern Baptist Convention’s Fraudulent Strikes Expire

Last month, Jonathan Howe, acting on behalf of the Southern Baptist Convention, filed a copyright strike against Evangelical Dark Web and also Protestia for livestreaming the Southern Baptist Convention. It’s worth noting that it was clear that Evangelical Dark Web provided commentary on procedure and personalities in its coverage of the 2026 Southern Baptist Convention, making it clearly transformative. Howe was not so blind that he could not have known that his claim was fraudulent.

But, YouTube is friendly with this process because it’s not music. So they defer to the courts. Now, I threatened a countersuit in my counternotification. In addition to damages, I would have also gone after Baptist Press for antitrust, in addition to the fraudulent claim. But alas, as I predicted, Howe did not have the leeway to file a frivolous lawsuit.

So, the ten business days expired, and I win.
