Multiple candidates have been vying for the key Evangelical demographic in the Republican presidential primary. This key demographic has been instrumental in winning the first in the nation caucus state of Iowa. None have catered their campaign more towards this bloc than Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina.
Yet his campaign did not go anywhere and it was clear from the beginning that he was amateurish in comparison to his competitors. In any event, Tim Scott never performed the best nor the worst. Rather, he was forgettable.
On Sunday, Tim Scott would announce that he is ending his campaign.
Tonight, I suspended my campaign for president.

Traveling this country and meeting all of you has been one of the most fantastic experiences of my entire life.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Tim Scott recognizes that he failed to build a critical mass of support, and suspended his campaign.
The move is somewhat surprising given that Asa Hutchinson and Doug Bergum failed to make the debate stage and were widely speculated to drop out next. The Hutchinson campaign neither has the funds nor the support to continue.
It will be interesting to see where Tim Scott’s support goes.
