The Ego of James White

In the aftermath of Tobias Riemenschneider uploading a podcast on Eschatology Matters that slandered Joel Webbon, has not been fading. Last week, the recorded Zoom call that Riemenschneider had not anticipated the existence of was leaked which demonstrably proved two lies: that Riemenschneider did in fact demand church discipline and Riemenschneider knew a screenshot of Corey Mahler was not cited affirmatively by either Joel Webbon or a member of his church. The leaked Zoom call showcased how teenage the behind-the-scenes of all this is.

Last Thursday, James White yelled at his audience, or more likely people who are not even watching him, defending Tobias Riemenschneider for not responding to evidence of his slander. James White claims that Riemenschneider was busy going to a conference in another country when his laptop died and all he had was a phone. James White further elaborated that when Riemenschneider returned, it was his turn to host an event which Apologia personalities spoke at. The barrage of lame excuses from White has aged poorly as what is the remaining excuse for not responding, if he was ever going to.

Prior to that moment, James White makes reference to a “webcast” occurring later that day on the matter, a possible reference to Evangelical Dark Web’s livestream. Contrary to James White’s opinions the full recording was available prior to the livestream being set up, and so we were informed enough to comment on the evidence.

After providing the pitiful excuses of Riemenschneider’s reticence, James White yells at people to shut up.

So we’ve said he’s going to respond. How about you wait for him to do that.

James White goes into a struggle session treating Scott Aniol of G3 Ministries as untouchable for his role in promoting the lies of Riemenschneider. As noted on Monday, Scott Aniol promoted the lies but did not apologize for doing so. James White diatribes over a tweet from an unnamed individual who insisted that Scott Aniol delete his account and resign over promoting the lies.

I don’t even know what words to use to describe that level of foolishness. I really don’t. But for me, that was it as far as that individual went. I have no interest, none. The level of immaturity is beneath notice. So just that, that was it, and that’s happening every day. The stuff that I see, I don’t see everything. It’s aimed at me because I have so many red Avatar blue-eyed guys already blocked that it just doesn’t pop up. But I see enough.

James White sounds like many Big Eva personalities who complain about social media because they cannot cope with the scrutiny of their ideas. He blocks a lot of people. Moreover, his video has disabled the like button and has comments turned off.

Only one side is stoking the fires and going, “We will not wait.” It’s again, we’re back on the playground. Fourth grade, y’all sit down and shut up. Let the man respond and then we can have a conversation about it. [Emphasis added]

Since James White published this, Tobias Riemenschneider has not responded. But since, unbeknownst to White at the time, the entire Zoom call was leaked what need is there to wait for more context to be added? Two hours is plenty. Nevertheless, James White yells at people to sit down and shut up.

Okay, but right now this is like Romper Room, and you all just need to sit back and go, “Yeah, I think we’ve sort of lost control of ourselves. Yes, you have. Sit down, shut up, be patient. I know that’s not something that works real well for you all, but stop it. Just wait. The conversation’s coming. It’s going to take place, but it’s not going to take place in place of the necessary and constant warning about what’s taking place in reformed churches where the gospel is being decentralized for narratives of ethnocentrism, white supremacy, Jewish conspiracy theories, or whatever else comes along with it. We are not going to allow the real issue to be replaced by some personal issues between two men, which that was never the reason for the call in the first place, and there was stuff that had come before that which isn’t a part of the call, etc. etc.

Here James White dives further into Woke Wars II, ignoring the broader context in which larger personalities directed Riemenschneider’s actions.

As one of our writers put it, “I could understand him not wanting to be outnumbered and will give him credit for responding but not being able to make the decision independently speaks volumes.”

So the dialog is currently looking unlikely because of Riemenschneider’s apparent handlers. White continues:

All right, so just stop it. You’re making fools of yourselves. I don’t know if you’ve looked at the people that are posting your stuff and their comments, but it’s embarrassing. It really is. I really hope that I live long enough for some of you to come up to me 10, 15 years from now and go, “Man, I’m so sorry. I look back now and I just can’t believe…”.

James White ends on an egotistical crescendo whereby he insists that in 10-15 years people will believe that holding Scott Aniol accountable for promoting slander and commenting on a Zoom call is wrong, or that people will remember this issue and care. The only thing that would prevent James White from relishing in his own correctness is his mortality. James White is the Reformed Rick Warren with the level of arrogance on display.
