Things are different in the spiritual warfare, right now. For the first time ever since I founded Evangelical Dark Web, the is a great wind at our back. I have watched and fought to expose many bad actors in Evangelicalism. Among them are liberals in Christian media, woke denominations, Side B Theologians, and Christless conservatism, just to name a few. But though faithful in the task, the goal was never to merely expose, but to fight for the faith and church.
Progress has been brewing in the last few years as the competency crisis in Evangelicalism has given rise to new leaders and institutions. Many of these are in their infancy, and this four years are a chance to build upon progress with a favorable vibe shift in culture. In Evangelicalism, we are inundated with messaging that things only ever get worse. This messaging has been the reality for current generations of Americans but is unfounded in a longer view of history. History operates in cycles.
However, the Second Trump Administration is not merely a figurehead for a vibe shift, it is also an airstrike assisting those of us in the trenches. Trump’s actions to fight wokeness, transgenderism, and illegal immigration are all actions that go beyond what Big Eva, our shorthand for Evangelical institutions, would allow. Perhaps most importantly, Trump’s threat to USAID and the NGOs is one of the biggest gifts he provided. World Relief among others profited from the Southern invasion and through their influence were able to influence Evangelicals to their unpatriotic cause.
What many of us fail to realize is that government spending is a major contributing factor to that which ails us. Because of the lack of accountability, grants, foreign aid, etc, taxpayer money ends up in the hands of NGOs advancing liberal causes. Attacking this does major damage to Satan’s earthly forces who seemingly have an endless warchest.
Christians in contrast do not have enough money. We are outspent and worse often squandering our resources. These next four years will be an opportunity to change this, hopefully for the longterm. But it is worth appreciating that Trump is being used to better our position.
