If you’ve ever seen the movie Bambi, then you would have seen the masterpiece that was the work of Walt Disney. The movie captured nature in its artwork and then told a compelling story about a deer. Walt Disney had high standards for his for his work as Glenn Beck explains in this PragerU video. He also has a humble entrepreneurial background, starting out small and seeing the exponential growth of his company. If there was a hall of fame for entrepreneurs, Walt Disney would be inducted on the first ballot.
Disney’s company started out as just an idea. This idea of an cartoon motion picture became his life focus. He went to Los Angeles and pursued his dream and made it a reality. Walt Disney is a reminder of the dedication and high standards successful entrepreneurs need.
In examining the story of Walt Disney, I am reminded of my own words I wrote last year in Waiting is not a step in starting a business:
I can’t recall hearing any stories of entrepreneurs who waited until the right moment to start their business. Perhaps there are times when they started a business when the opportunity cost dropped such as job loss, but that’s when they decided to become entrepreneurs so that doesn’t count. The entrepreneurs you hear about did things. They did not sit around and wait for their plans to come into fruition on their own by someone else’s will. They hustled, grinded, and their venture came into fruition through their hard work.
There is a lot to learn about being an entrepreneur from Walt Disney. He set an example for those, like me, starting out and finding their own way to follow.
