Though we should not be surprised, the feminists in the pro-life movement, that Evangelical Dark Web has been going after for quite a while now, have quashed the Louisiana abortion abolition bill. A historic Louisiana bill, HB813, was not just an effort to criminalize abortion, but one to classify it as a homicide. The bill was defeated after an effort was made to neuter the bill.
A coalition of 70 “pro-life” organizations signed a letter opposing the bill. Among the signatories are Brent Leatherwood of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, Jeanne F. Mancini, of March For Life Action, and every state chapter of National Right to Life. Evidently these organizations all oppose taking pro-life arguments to their logical conclusion because they are run by feminists. Among the 70 signatures are overtly feminist organizations. Brent Leatherwood was one of the Big Eva leaders we named and shamed for celebrating the Ketanji Brown Jackson confirmation. Their letter reads:
Women are victims of abortion and require our compassion and support as well as ready access to counseling and social services in the days, weeks, months, and years following an abortion.
As national and state pro-life organizations, representing tens of millions of pro-life men, women, and children across the country, let us be clear: We state unequivocally that any measure seeking to criminalize or punish women is not pro-life and we stand firmly opposed to such efforts.
The letter claims that the movement is called to “act with love and compassion as we seek fairness, justice, and liberty for unborn children and their mothers.” It then goes on to claim that punishing women who murder their own children is “antithetical” to seeking justice for the unborn. The Bible calls for death penalty for those who murder innocent blood (Genesis 9:6). The Imago Dei is important, yet these pro-life organizations, better referred to as Big Baby do not actually believe that abortion is murder. Therefore, they also do not believe that an unborn child is truly human life.
