The termination of Brent Leatherwood did not last long. After a cavalcade of pressure led by Russell Moore and his liberal media allies, the Southern Baptist Convention has reversed course on their biggest win in the last year. Brent Leatherwood is reinstated and Keven Smith, the leader of the ERLC Trustee executive committee has resigned over the matter.
Whatever procedural mistake Kevin Smith made went out in a press release. Nevertheless, on Tuesday morning, the Southern Baptist Convention reversed course.
The ERLC denounced the meeting and vote in a stunning reversal. An insider informed Evangelical Dark Web that regular trustees were caught off guard by the removal, as they found out electronically. Megan Basham reports that the pressure launched by Russell Moore was what led to the reversal.
Speaking to sources within ERLC this morning who tell me that, yes, the media blowback from CNN, the New York Times, and other secular left media orchestrated by Russell Moore was indeed what caused @ERLC to retract its dismissal of @LeatherwoodERLC.

This is a developing story and a massive disappointment for Southern Baptists. Moreover, the ERLC leadership brought public embarrassment upon the organization which they have mismanaged since its inception.
