Donald Trump has made a number of announcements relating to his cabinet for his second term as President. One of the most contested positions was the Secretary of State role. It was cited by many in Conservative Inc. (Ben Shapiro) that Mike Pompeo would reprise his role. But in addition to denying Pompeo the opportunity, Donald Trump also denied Nikki Haley. The field of options for SoS was rather dim. Jack Posobiec put out a poll with the two aforementioned options, Rich Grenell, and Marco Rubio.
For some reason, Jack Posobiec, a Papist, was promoting the idea of Trump appointing a sodomite to represent America to the world. But Donald Trump went with the best of those four options: Marco Rubio. This was not great as Rubio has a history of supporting bad US foreign policy, particularly Obama-era initiatives like supporting the Arab Spring.
Moreover, this decision leaves a yet another vacancy to be filled in the Senate, an appointment that Ron DeSantis will make. Southern Baptists have floated their pick for Senate: Pastor Tom Ascol.
There is no man better suited or more worthy of stepping up to the call to serve as a U.S. Senator than Pastor Tom Ascol@GovRonDeSantis, please appoint @tomascol to fill Senator Rubio’s spot as the Senator for the State of Florida #DraftTomAscol https://t.co/ygLuPtpEVW pic.twitter.com/nvtCq0EfPW

The SBC needs Tom Ascol, but so does the U.S. Senate. Governor @RonDeSantis, there is no better man to replace Rubio than my friend @tomascol.#DraftTomAscol https://t.co/cGuA9yfj7P pic.twitter.com/ns9ZV5odtz

Governor @RonDeSantis, you are already in the running, but if you appoint @tomascol to Rubio's Senate seat, you will cement your place as the greatest governor of all time. #DraftTomAscol https://t.co/pOaRCasYea

Cough, @JeremyRedfernFL, cough 😉 https://t.co/WxuHTcrbgq
Tom Ascol is no stranger to politics or Ron DeSantis, whose events he has prayed with. He might also be amenable to a short stint, as many foresee Ron DeSantis wanting to fill the seat himself when it’s up for reelection in 2026. This would be a real-life Mr. Smith Goes To Washington.
