Last year, Steven Crowder faced a lawsuit from Jared Monroe, a former cohost who went by “Not Gay Jared.” Though not the only former staffer with beef against Crowder, Monroe would crowdfund a lawsuit against Steven Crowder to liberate himself from Crowder’s long train of post-employment abuses.
In addition to a non-disclosure agreement, Crowder imposed a nondisparagement and noncompete clause that hindered Monroe’s ability to seek employment. Moreover, Jared Monroe played a role in supporting Steven Crowder’s now ex-wife. But the CEO of Louder With Crowder, LLC, Gerald Morgan Jr. AKA Gerald A, barely disputed Monroe’s claims.
The legal saga is over after Jared raised $98000 to fight as Steven Crowder suffered a resounding defeat for his illegal clauses. According to Matt Bruenig:
One thing in the public record is that a Texas court already ordered Crowder to pay Jared $58,037 for filing the frivolous defamation lawsuit. Another thing in the public record is that the ULP charges Jared withdrew as part of the settlement would have, if successful, resulted in an NLRB order requiring Crowder to reimburse Jared for the legal expenses he incurred defending himself against the earlier Rule 202 petition and non-disparagement lawsuit as well.
Overall, this was a complete victory for Jared. He successfully defended himself against all of Crowder’s legal actions, secured financial compensation, and forced Crowder to rescind his non-disparagement and confidentiality clauses for all employees. Crowder, on the other hand, walked away with nothing.
Crowder has not commented on his defeat.
