If the Southern Baptist Convention did not have bad publicity, they would not have publicity at all. Last week, the Southern Baptist Convention released a study aimed at showcasing a narrative that Evangelicals support amnesty for illegal immigrants. This comes while the Southern Baptist Convention was exposed as a subcontractor to World Relief, an open borders profiteering NGO. While partnering with the Soros-backed Evangelical Immigration Table, the Southern Baptist Convention released another annual study on the immigration issue, suggesting that Evangelicals are more pro-amnesty in 2025 than they were in 2015.
In this section, the Southern Baptist Convention is claiming that Evangelicals are more supportive of amnesty than in 2015, despite multiple elections of Donald Trump, especially in 2024 where he won the Evangelical vote by 60 points campaigning on mass deportations. To then suggest that Evangelicals simultaneously overwhelmingly oppose the mandate they voted for is insane. These numbers are similar to the Kamala Harris bump polls that showed her winning, something that the Democrats’ internal polls never had.
The Southern Baptist Convention has done this poll thrice this decade and before that in 2015. Issue polling is notoriously easy to manipulate.
An IPSOS poll from last month showed 2/3 of Americans support deportations, although support decreases when specific policies are detailed. Nevertheless, 93% of Republicans and 43% of Democrats supported deportations. Although this poll did not stratify for religious affiliation, it is nonetheless incongruent with the findings of Lifeway and the Evangelical Immigration Table.
At the end of the day, the Southern Baptist Convention has been caught open borders profiteering. They have a track record of advocating for amnesty. So for them to push this narrative is unsurprising as it is deceitful.

I think 90% or more would say yes.
Then they’ll take that and spin it, as if the peopl asked were thinking of illegal aliens, undocumented border crossers. Ironic eh? The people who always accuse the right of fake news are very crafty at spinning it themselves.
I think most Christians are willing to let aliens become citizens. -> That is not the issue.

I was raised and grew up as a Southern Baptist. However, when the SBC started seriously asking its members if the miracles in the Bible were really miracles, I knew it was time to leave. Stories like this one just confirm that the people running the SBC are not serious about religion.
Anyone found here illegally should lose the ability to go through the process legally. In fact they should be castrated before being sent back so they can make children to send here either. Better yet, illegal immigration should have the death penalty.
