If we were to do a power ranking of false teachers right now, Mike Todd would consistently be top ten, as the number of people he influences is great, and his theology is terrible. In a 93 minute sermon which maybe has ten minutes of content in it, we hear Mike Todd’s heart on the issues of homosexuality, transgenderism, and adultery, and what we heard was wickedness dressed as false humility.
Prefacing this this segment, is Michael Todd teaching that the Christian life is one of submitting our desires and opinions to God when we disagree. However this is shortselling what the Christian life is. The Christian life is one of being transformed. Our desires and opinions should be transformed to conform with God, not begrudgingly submitted to, as Todd teaches.
3 Trust in the Lord and do good;
Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
4 Delight yourself in the Lord;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the Lord,

Mike Todd goes on to feign a controversial stance by stated that God made male and female. Todd frames, God’s creation as arbitrary, capricious, and overcomplicated. Todd would state that it would be so much simpler if God made gender conform to how liberals see gender, but states that we should submit to God. According to Mike Todd, he doesn’t know what God made them male and female. He doesn’t know why homosexuality is a sin.

It’s not complicated to answer why homosexuality and transgenderism are sinful. They are a direct attack on the dominion mandate that mankind was given. Additionally, one of the purposes of marriage is to point to the relationship between Christ and His church, pointing to the gospel. God did not arbitrarily decide that marriage was between man and women. He purposefully decided it. Mike Todd doesn’t know the answer to why homosexuality and transgenderism are sinful, and therefore shouldn’t be a pastor. These are really easy questions.
In reiterating his point on how submission works in the kingdom of God, Mike Todd moves to the issue of adultery. Mike Todd argues that it’s not wrong, in fact it’s only natural to feel horny for a woman that’s not your wife. It’s only natural to want to cheat on your spouse of for a wife to want to move to Hawaii and abandon her family.
Yet these desires are sinful. Jesus clearly teaches that lust is a sin with regards to adultery. Yet the writer of Relationship Goals is arguing that wanting to cheat on your spouse is not a sin until you act on it.
Sin encompasses not only our actions but our attitudes, desires, and motivations. Mike Todd is teaching the same thing that many in Evangelicalism are teaching and it’s called Side B theology. Mike Todd treats homosexuality as a complicated issue in Scripture, when its frankly one of the easiest issues in Scripture. And in order to appeal to the hordes of women in his congregation he has to placate their sensibilities. Side B theology is far more pervasive than just the Revoice Conference. What Mike Todd taught here on adultery is how many Evangelicals teach on homosexuality. They just lack the superfluous ambiance of a television studio posing as a local church.

It’s so obviously a “look at me” sham.
