Last year a two part documentary series titled The Real David Platt exposed Platt’s liberalism and corruption at McLean Bible Church, in Virginia. The documentary exposed Platt’s role in a conspiracy to join the Southern Baptist Convention against the church’s constitution leading to a successful lawsuit against MBC. Another interesting aspect of this story is how Platt went woke immediately upon taking over MBC.
The Gospel Coalition has David Platt speaking at TGC25, in April, alongside Alistair Begg and John Piper. However, The Gospel Coalition recently lauded David Platt as innocent of all charges in the documentary and elsewhere.

FROM MBC ELDERS – NOVEMBER 2, 2024
By God’s grace, our church family is joyfully unified in our devotion to Jesus, our love for one another, and our mission to reach the world around us with the gospel. As elders, we aim to shepherd, guard, and care for God’s church faithfully (Acts 20:28-32). As servants of the church, we do not want to be quarrelsome, but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, and correcting opponents with gentleness, with hope that God may perhaps grant them repentance that leads to a knowledge of the truth (2 Timothy 2:24-26).As we have shared multiple times over the past four years, a small group of well-resourced individuals from close to and far away from McLean Bible Church has launched a coordinated and sustained effort filled with countless false accusations concerning our church leaders and continual meritless lawsuits concerning our church’s constitution, all of which have either been denied by the courts, are in the process of being dismissed by the courts, or have been withdrawn by the plaintiffs. This group’s stated aim has been to disparage and ultimately remove church leaders, including our Lead Pastors, Mike Kelsey and David Platt, our Executive Pastor, Wade Burnett, and our other elders, pastors, and staff leaders who together are committed to leading the church according to God’s Word instead of this group’s personal ideologies. Our church family has seen this group’s harmful attacks and unbiblical tactics for what they are, and church members have voted on multiple occasions and in overwhelming fashion to affirm the direction and leaders of our church.
Specifically in light of how this group has targeted their attacks toward David Platt, we want to communicate as clearly as possible that our elders and pastors stand by David without any reservation. He has consistently demonstrated the highest integrity, deep humility, and a profound dedication to God’s Word. Any suggestion to the contrary is simply not what we have experienced as we have served alongside him. At every step, through division and personal attacks, David has exemplified what it means to be above reproach in both his life and his leadership of our church family. We honor David and we thank God for his leadership in our church and across the broader church, celebrating the amazing work God has accomplished and is accomplishing through his ministry. It is our joy to serve alongside him, knowing him to be nothing but trustworthy.
If you have more questions or would like more information, you can find years of updates here on how our church family has walked through this together. We have tried to pursue peace with this group in good faith, yet they have repeatedly declined or ignored our offers. Even as we lament the deception this group has spread, we sincerely desire the good of all people, including those in this group, and we continually pray for God’s grace over them.
Meanwhile, our church family is happily focused on following Jesus together, gathering each week for worship that is driven by His Word and going out each week as witnesses to Him in the world. By God’s grace during these four years, our church membership has increased, our outreach in our city and around the world has grown, and we are in a much greater position of biblical health. We invite any brothers and sisters in Christ who want to follow Jesus in fellowship with us to be a part of McLean Bible Church. At the same time, we realize that many followers of Jesus will choose to carry out His mission in other local churches for many different reasons, and we love, support, and pray for such brothers and sisters in Christ, their churches, and their leaders as we work together for the spread of the gospel in our city and around the world.
The too long didn’t read is that MBC investigated themselves and found no evidence of wrongdoing, despite emails, depositions, and video evidence.
The Gospel Coalition stands by David Platt, which is unsurprising. But nevertheless, the documentary has been viewed by The Gospel Coalition staffers who seethe at the evidence. Even other liberal outlets like Baptist News Global found the evidence to be overwhelming.
David Platt is a wolf and The Gospel Coalition is here to defend him.

David Platt appointed the black militant Mike Kelsey as co-pastor. Mike Kelsey said that he wants to “torch all white people.”

Furthermore, David Platt is notorious for injecting anti-White, cultural marxist ideology into his sermons and into the activities and activism of McLean Bible Church.
When Platt became leader pastor of MBC, the megachurch had around 16,000 regular attendees.
Since then, attendance has plummeted to around 2,500 as for 2021, and has likely declined further since then.

It is obvious that the MBC members aren’t happy with Platt’s subversive cultural marxist theology, which is why most of the membership has departed.
MBC also employs the notorious cultural marxist (and nasty malicious individual) Joe Carter as an assistant pastor. Joe Carter is a malevolent leftist, who said that Christians shouldn’t use the phrase “cultural marxism” because it offends jews. Joe Carter is also well-known for promoting “anti-racism”, race-mixing, zionism, and other subversive evil heretical ideologies.
The MBC and “The Gospel Coalition” (and “Together For The Gospel”) are all subversive, treasonous, anti-White organizations.
After an America First government wins power, these organizations, and all others like them, will be banned.
Is David Platt a homosexual? He looks like a homosexual.
But at least that’s better than the depraved monster demon Joel Berry, and creepy Doug Wilson, both of whom look like pedophiles. Even their photos are disturbing to look at.
‘He also continues to server as a Council Member in good standing at TGC. We agree with his elders’ recent statement’
So, this is hilarious, because they make it sound like TGC is an authority here, but they admit Platt is a ‘council member’ in good standing. Was his standing ever in question during these accusations? (I’m guessing that answer would be a deifniteive no.)
I’d never heard of TGC’s council so I looked it up:
https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/about/council/
They spell it out for you:
“The Gospel Coalition’s Council is a collection of pastors who provide direction and leadership to TGC. They meet annually for fellowship, discussion, planning, accountability, and prayer around the gospel of our Lord Jesus. Aiming to bring biblical conviction and pastoral sensitivity to bear on a range of pressing contemporary issues, the Council is committed to shepherding the next generation of church leaders in line with TGC’s foundation documents.”
So without reading anyfurther we can conclude. That the council, IS TGC, Platt is on the Council, therefore TGC Is Platt. This is basically a shell game where by Platt uses the facade of TGC’s site to tout his own innocence, as if TGC is a credible, neutral, and impartial jurist.
TGC is not impartial, and cannot be, because they, from what I can tell never suspended Platt from the council whyile deliberating on the matters at McLean Bible Church. Because of this, they are tainted by a conflict of interest right off the bat, and frankly, discredit themselves as a trustworthy ministry even further than they were already not trustworthy.
What irony is clearly lost on the author of this article, is that by TGC doing this, not only do reveal their bias toward Platt, that they are Platt, but by using the elders wording, you can clearly see the Elders are Platt also. McLean church is lost folks, come out from among them, seek a place that will not lie to you to your face from the pulpit.
On its face the elder statement is repugnant, it cites things it sees as vicftories, but refuses to actually answer many of the questions that are still left unanswered, pointing instead at records on their website (as if we should trust the website of any organization who’s elder group has been taken over by a hostile takeover of stealth calvinists and woke zealots.)
ah, so the elders that platt hand-picked to be his yes-men after getting rid of all the ones who asked questions found him innocent? color me surprised.
Not a single refutation of concrete arguments from the documentary, just artless redirection in a vain attempt to masquerade as angels of light. The devil is truly prowling here.
David Platt is NOT even a good speaker. Why would anyone EVER want this man to speak? He sounds like some sort of homosexual robot from outerspace.
The only possible answer why anyone would want David Platt around is that he is able to secure them some USAID money or perhaps CIA money. Will they keep David Platt on their “council” if he can no longer secure such?
Mr. Platt is not a homosexual, (he has a wife,) but it does seem likely that his double judgement will not be fun for him. Because of the things he’s taught, I think it’s likely that he will only be saved as if through fire, to the extent I can tell at all.
