After Covenant School Shooting was a massacre in which a transvestite woman murdered six people in a private Christian school before getting gunned down by law enforcement. Liberals in the state have used this tragedy to lobby for gun control and suppress the murderers manifesto. This also includes Brent Leatherwood, the president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention and an egalitarian Southern Baptist multicampus church, Brentwood Baptist Church.
During the Tennessee legislative session, Governor Bill Lee lobbied for gun control in response to the pressure. Republicans were able to end the session. However, Governor Bill Lee called a special session to pass gun control legislation in Tennessee.
This week their efforts to enact gun control were defeated as the House and Senate of Tennessee adjourned until January. The bills that were passed did not include gun control measures including so-called “red flag laws.”
The session included a lot of drama, sound and fury signifying nothing. Liberals and Democrats protested at the legislature, including some of the women from Covenant. But Republicans, particularly those in the Senate were unmoved by women tears meant meant to manipulate them into passing unconstitutional policy. And for that, we thank them.
