Tim Keller Led To Gay

The Kellerites And Sexual Compromise: A Brief Summary

Yesterday, Evangelical Dark Web reported on Grace DC, a multicampus megachurch, hosting a “Men’s Same-Sex Attraction Group.” Although I began that article with a reference to Tim Keller, that was merely to frame the context of the PCA. I had not come across the church’s website to note its explicit reference to Keller’s catechism or the eerie similarity to Redeemer Presbyterian in New York. So in other words, this type of behavior by churches and pastors is akin to the “Every Single Time” meme but in this case, the church’s early life check involves explicit inspiration from Keller. Thus, it’s time to use the term Kellerite.

Disciples of false teaching are historically named after the originator of the false teaching. However, these false teachings are multifaceted. But in any case, the history of Keller’s disciples showcases a fruit of homosexual compromise, especially within the Presbyterian Church in America.

Let’s start with Greg Johnson, a former PCA elder who hosted the first Revoice Conference in 2018. Tim Keller endorsed his book. He would ultimately withdraw from the PCA after the denomination failed to discipline him. He has even promoted homosexual relationships.

Scott Sauls used to work under Tim Keller before becoming the Tim Keller of Nashville. But he would be run out of his church for leadership abuses. This came after he endorsed the Revoice Conference. He has since become egalitarian.

Grant Hartley is a gay affirming speaker who credits Tim Keller with his views on homosexuality. He has since become Roman Catholic, although it’s unclear whether he went through their catechism class for adults.

The Tim Keller Center for Cultural Apologetics is full of people who embrace Side B Theology such as Sam Allberry, the founder of Living Out (yes, that kind of out.) Rachel Gilson, who promoted “pronoun hospitality” as a difficult issue.

This list isn’t exhaustive. It’s merely high-profile examples, but Grace DC is a low-profile Kellerite church, and the compromise is clear as day.

  1. I don’t understand why Presbyterian churches didn’t always have same sex attraction clubs, since Presbyterianism is gay. Calvinism is the “born that way, can’t do any better excuse” of homosexualism. The Total depravity doctrine is a confession of Calvinists that they think they were born gay.
